New Year Blog #1 - What I got for Christmas
.
Christmas was spent with my family back home in Cambridge. Thus, other than performing maintainance on their computer (as is the tradition whenever I visit home…) I was largely separated from my Blog.
Here then, is the first catch-up post for the new year. A little self-indulgent look at my Christmas presents. Peter Jackson will be pleased.
- The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Box set (extended editions)
- I’ve been asking for these every year since they first came out. I just need to find 4 more hours spare for Return of the King and I’ll be done already.
- MSI TV Tuner card
- To watch television on my computer… Just as soon as I get the aerial in the right position (please God don’t let that be “1 metre above your bed and nowhere else”)
- Jeffrey Zeldman
presents the Bible– Designing with Web Standards - Seen by most as The Bible of web design.
- Radiohead calendar
- I’m a big fan of Radiohead’s artwork and this calendar is full of more recent work (the Kid A era and beyond, really).
- Photographs from the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition in London
- Not that I’ve been going on and on about these for some time or anything, but some of them are really rather nice indeed.
