Minium

.

Some time ago I was avidly following development of an icon set called Minium by the supremely talented Sascha Hhne. He’s a busy man though so it took an age to finish, his blog didn’t get updated and I stopped looking.

More fool me. Minium was released on 13th Feb and the icons look stunningly good. I just wish Windows XP had a half-decent icon replacement program (which was free). Maybe I’ll have to learn how to go about hacking Windows core files to replace them properly.

Microsoft, if you’re reading, employ this man and throw away the teletubby icons. Please. Thanks.

I know, I know… I am immensely tempted by a 12" PowerBook. I don’t really have any need for anything top-of-the-range since all my development at Uni next year will still be Windows based. Depending on whether parents might part-sponsor it, I think I could make very good use of a notebook in lectures and on trains.

We’ll see I guess… certainly no risk of a sudden purchase since I’d wait for Tiger to come out. It’s all rather money dependent really… I’m getting 2x 19" TFT screens fairly soon which will hit the wallet just a bit.

I do want one. QuickSilver is such a stunning little app that’s almost a PC vs. Mac decider in itself.
