The original ‘How permalinks work’ page from Blogger.com back in 2000. That it’s fate is ironic needn’t be stated; personally I find it deeply sad. A symbol of internet decay that will claim all kinds of knowledge and history from the web unless we take more responsibility for the things we create.

In the mean time, The Internet Archive is the patch holding our mistakes together at the seams:
